Ireland Tectonic Plates

While researching about tectonic plates and boundaries in Ireland this week, I have discovered that Ireland is located on the Eurasion plate. Since Ireland is considered an island and is surrounded mostly by water, it is considered to be located in a subduction zone. A subduction zone is when oceanic plates meet a continental plate and become pushed underneath it. Ireland is relatively close to the North American boundary only to be separated by water. While researching, I found that the Eurasion plate is susceptible to a lot of earthquakes.

  1. I want to clarify something. Although Ireland's story has gone through several collisions over its millions of years of history, currently is in the middle of the Eurasian plate (as you say) and not at a subduction boundary (your third line).
